if you see your chip/board here..
AMD Socket AM2+, AM2, 939, 754
- All Athlon 64 X2, Athlon 64
- All Athlon 64 FX, Sempron
- Opteron
you should be ok.
edit: Does PWM’s 4-pin fan plug be able to use in 3-pin fan socket on mother board?
4-pin fan plug is downward compatible to 3-pin fan socket on mother board. The stopper on the plug actually guides you to insert. Please see the following pictures.

its a pin short...
its only a fan... so I can't see what the extra wire is for!, infact I can't work out why it needs 3 wires, let alone 4 in the first place!

just drill a hole in the mother board
make sure it goes thru the cpu so it stays nice and cool.
Also i am allergic to some kitties, my dear departed snippet was fine, but i met a big fluffly old gentleman named Gabe at the weekend and i almost died of allergics.

re. kittens
i seem to recall it's not the fur that causes the reaction it's dried cat spit that does it. you either need to give the cat a rub down with a damp cloth or cut its tongue out.

I only have to be in close proxiimity to be affected
does kitty spit get in the air?
( ,
Thu 19 Jun 2008, 10:07,

it probably does
i'm guessing it produces great clouds of dried spit dust, the hairier the cat the more dried spit there is about, i have the same problem with airborne alcohol, the bash brought me out in a rash, and i didn't drink a drop.

"New: The PWM chip in the motor allows an exact fan speed control via BIOS. (4 wire)" it says...
does that mean I don't have to use the 4th? I'm so confuzzled :(

That's exactly it.
The fourth pin is for speed control. If your fan doesn't have speed control it will only have three pins.
Stick it on - it'll only fit one way.
EDIT: Ah, just re-read, yours is the other way round - I say go for it, it should be fine.
