it's a Sony, silly.

( I went to my grandmother's today, she's got a sony bravia from somewhere. I wish people would keep me in the loop )

# I don't watch anywhere near
enough TV to justify the money I have spent on screens but then I have to remind myself that I'm not the only one here.
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:08, archived)
# one of the reasons i live alone
is my utter refusal to hand the remote control to anyone else.

# It's never a problem here.
even when the house is full. TV front room, TV in the TV room. TV in my office, TV in our bedroom, TV in the boy's room and all 4 PCs have TV tuners and all hooked up to cable.

I still download all my TV shows from the net and watch them in my office.
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:16, archived)
# 2 TV licences then
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:20, archived)
# No.
Why would that be?

( one of my favourite subjects, the old television equipment operating license, so tread carefully ;))
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:23, archived)
# no as it's a private dwelling and not a hotel
innit
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:32, archived)

and spend all my time in the same room as it.
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:26, archived)
# we have 3 cable boxes.
2 external freeview boxes and 4 DVD players. It's an extremely wasteful house considering she is in London most of the week and the boy is at his gran's ( worked well enough for me when I was growing up ) and I really should consider my carbon footprint. But that might mean divorce and getting rid of at least 2 cars. I'm willing to consider one, but.....
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:30, archived)
# your electricity bill must be huge!
my nephew lives with my parents, it's done him no harm. he's getting plenty of sleep away from his 3-month-old twin brothers, both of whom are teething.
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:34, archived)
# All my bills are huge.
It's just marginally less expensive than divorce. ( who am I kidding? My wife earns a fortune )
Connor does not live with my mum, he just spends time there midweek when she's at work and I'm at work/on the piss.
Keeps my mum busy ( you know women and grandkids) and allows me freedom to get on with stuff ( or not )
It's only a mile away so he's not been packed off. That comes with military school in 4 years ;)
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:38, archived)
# that's my problem
every bloke i've been with has been a minimum wager, except for one, who turned out to be married. one of these days, i'm going to either win the lottery or finally be able to get a bloody job!
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:41, archived)
# ah.
I've always been a provider. Even when I was in the army my stake in the family business allowed for no money worries. ( army pay is shit, yes, I did it for love )
I don't work a lot but the fact that my contracts are usually huge means I don't have to work a full time schedule and I don't keep a full time staff since I sold my actual business and contracts nearly 7 years ago.

I'm not minted by any means but as I keep telling her, she can give up work and we could manage until death on what we have. ( Unless he grows up to be a racing driver, that's gonna kill me )
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:46, archived)
# i'm lucky, really
i've got nobody but me to provide for, so i don't need much money. it'd be nice, though, if i saw something i really wanted and could just buy it without worrying about the price. still, the way the weight loss is going, i should have enough health problems fixed within the next 3 years to finally be fit for work. buggered if i know what work, though!
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:50, archived)
# I'm glad the weight loss appears to be going well.
Not because you deserve to be skinny and vain, but because you deserve to be having a healthy life.
If all else fails I'll employ you to be my sometime drinking partner. That might get you a pair of shoes a year. ( I could steal you shoes, there is a walk in wardrobe here full of Manolos and Jimmy Choos. My wife is bigfoot though. )
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:54, archived)
# manolos???

(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:02, archived)
# Hehehe
Ouch.
(, Sat 8 Nov 2008, 23:04, archived)
# But is it meant to be 2400 inches ('') or feet (')?
2400'' == 60.96 meters
2400' == 731.52 meters

Hmm. I guess this is a pointless question, isn't it?

edit: the google resulted in this interesting thread:
