And I've pretty much given up on Ryanair - when you factor in travel to Prestwick, taxes, fees, etc., it works out cheaper to fly from a professional airline from Edinburgh instead.

I once got to the gate 10 mins before the plane was due to leaveHad to run like hell, accompanied by member of staff, and still made it onto the plane.

RIGHT.This one time I got to the airport, the plane had ALREADY TAKEN OFF, so they strapped me into a helicopter and flew after the plane, then chucked me out over the wing.
The other passengers had to haul me in through the emergency exit.
