I watched it in my flat on my own, late at night,when the massive winds were going on, with all the lights off.
It scared me a few times, and noises in the flat scared me a few times. I don't really get the whole not being able to sleep for days afterwards though.

Seriously the only bit I found remotely scary was the dragged out of bed bit.The rest was just noises and a swinging light fitting.
