Rock Music and Beer Festival Bash

IMPORTANT: If you are coming to work at the festival for part or whole time, you MUST e-mail me ASAP and fill in a Steward's form, which I will send you. We still have some spaces left in the stage management camp site. Nice tents, gazebo with fridge freezer and cooking facilities.

As you probably know, I run the main stage for this event and the festival directors have agreed to tack on an extra day just for my rock school end concert. You will get to see 8 student bands at a standard you will not believe, considering they only met to form their bands 6 days previously. Also there are some top bands including London Mega-band 'Kyrbgrinder' and my Pink Floyd tribute band, Charm School Dropouts.
There will be around 50 different beers and lagers, cider and softies. There is a huge record fair and loads of stalls selling all kinds of stuff, and many different food outlets. All the traders prices are governed by us so no rip offs. I will be happy to show you around the backstage area if interested and for those who want to stay for the whole weekend can put their names forward as helpers to save the £69 weekend ticket or I'll arrange discounts for the lazy workshy bastards. We can put up several in our camp. We have 6 X 6 man tents. There is a small entry fee of £3.50 to cover the admin and the cost of the passes but that is it. So there you have it. A very friendly rock festival, a beer festival, and a bash all in one. All Most welcome. It is a family festival. Kids welcome and lots to do for them too. Playgrounds, petting zoo, lots of animals as the venue is right slap bang in the middle of Wood Green Animal Shelter at Godmanchester, Huntingdon, just off the A14.
Transport provided to and from the station if required. Check the line up at www.rockinbeerfest.co.uk
There are still a few jobs going helping me out backstage.

What sort work would a helper be doing

How much music would one miss?

The work is varied.

I run the 2 stages and backstage area, Mrs HB runs the green room catering. I will need around 6 stage crew to help keep the backstage working on time and safely. Showing bands where to dump their gear, time boards etc and Mrs HB will need a few to help her. It's great fun, and very friendly.

that I can make this.

EDIT: Arse, sorry, I won't be in the UK until the following weekend.

Hopefully I will be able to help at this.

I have a feeling it's on the same day as my A level results, so I'll just have to hope that I got the grades and don't need to use clearing.

The jobs backstage, what are they?

are they still going and is a complete lack of any experience a problem?

backstage jobs

Runners; you hang around backstage and do stuff
Time board crew; holding up signs when their alloted set is getting near the end
Green room; making sarnies and looking after the bands etc with the Mrs
Stewards; gereral stewarding stuff

(, Thu 29 Jun 2006, 13:12, Reply)
what does stewarding involve?

is it like bouncing?

(, Thu 29 Jun 2006, 13:17, Reply)
No, we haven't ever had a need for bouncers

It's far too friendly for that and anyway there are proper security people around the stage (to stop the artistes coming out and pestering people to take autographed photos from them I think). It's just to stand around and direct people to the bar or camp site, just an official presence really.
