This is a normal post That was lovely.
I wasn't clear about how they get the air out of the tube, though. One of the men said something about "burning" it out, but I would have thought they'd use a vacuum pump before they put the gas in.

This is a normal post I think they seal the tube and then turn the element on which then burns all the oxygen
and leaves you with a vacuum. My guess it's cheaper than a vaccum machine?

Oxygen won't burn by itself (and our atmosphere is only about 20% Oxygen, the rest is mostly Nitrogen, which won't burn either).

There has to be some sort of vacuum machine to remove the gas. I think lighting it up is only to check if a vacuum has been achieved.
