There is a small number of trans people saying "I know I'm not really a woman / man, I don't want anything more than people to be polite to me" - and they always seem* to be the people who have gone the whole hog with gender reassignment surgery.

Another thing is the rate of intersex births is unlikely to change much.
Surgeons would make a judgement as to what parts to keep, without genetic testing.
The people I met just wanted to get on with their lives without being harassed.

I think is the point.
I also feel sorry for the women (real, actual women) who are now shouted down by, and increasingly in the Labour Party, represented by "trans" women who are often in their late teens or early twenties.
