This is a normal post I believe the standard way to get a bigger 'scope
Is to take measurements 6 months apart and merge them, that way you can get a baseline of ~2AU.

Bit fuzzy on this, though, about 25 years since I studied astronomy.

Obviously it's completely rubbish for any phenomenon that changes significantly over the 6 months.
