engineer-minded people seek and absorb the least-exotic explanation with the same zeal and fervour that conspiracy-minded people seek and absorb the most exotic. It's a mindset common among the Dawkins rationality fad generation.
You might be right, but there is a lot less certainty to that than you think. Knowing a bit about rockets and knowing what the fuck HAARP, NASA etc are up to are a million miles apart.

I have no idea what these things are. But in an age when we have US agencies actively pushing the ionosphere upwards it irks me that people default to a 'theres nothing remotely strange going on' stance as belligerently as the Icke-ists take the opposite view.
