This is a link post Los Angeles reacts to 55 degree weather (that's about 12 for you forrins)
Considering it was 1 degree when I awoke this morning (-17c), I have nothing but sympathy.

This is a normal post I'd love to have seen a Scot in shorts and a t-shirt wander across shot,
stop and call the reporter a poof for his lack of constitution, then amble off...

This is a normal post Sounds utterly ridiculous in the UK, who's average temperature is around 12C.
But then they'd probably think the same about the weather warnings we get when the mercury climbs over the 20C mark.

This is a normal post Not just in LA
Many years ago She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed and I went to Sri Lanka on holiday. One of the places we visited was called Nuwara Eliya (sp?) which has a climate similar to a British spring day. We wore sweaters, the local kids going to school had on snorkel parkas and balaclavas.

This is a normal post I can relate to this.
I live in Spain, and a cold day here is about 13c. You see people wearing thick hats and scarves wrapped around their faces like they're in the Arctic or something!

Lowest I've ever seen it here is 2C which was particularly cold with the windchill. But I've yet to see ice, frost or snow down here.

I guess its what we're all used to. Especially when the cold weather only lasts about 2 to 3 months out of the year. Then its warm, then in the summer its hot.
