Shame the series didn't keep going...
Would have been a nice contrast to all this optimistic chirpiness to see Buckingham assassinated, Juliette poisoned, Athos taking part in the Fronde rebellion, Milady getting her head chopped off, the king shagging the fiance of Athos' bastard son, Aramis screwing everybody over and trying to depose the king, before Dogtanian takes a bullet in the gut in a pointless war against the Netherlands.
