LaughAfter the meal, after the port, and the cigars, the cabin of our little yacht on the river started to warm up. And the stories and reminiscences and jokes began. Then, when we were laughing so hard it hurt, my mate found one more pun to add on to the end. And I laughed harder. Unable to breathe, or think, or move I slumped forward into the table, weeping, drooling and shaking.
I think I laughed as hard as it's possible to laugh without losing consciousness. For those 20 seconds I was just a little ball of human happiness with no beginning or end or reason to it.
