This is a question Beautiful Moments

The best night of my life was spent lying in the bottom of a boat, floating down a river low enough to be under the thin layer of mist gathering at about 3am such that it scudded between me and the stars.

Make us feel all warm and fluffy. Tell us about the most beautiful moments in your life so far.

Reading Festival last year...
Stood in our campsite at about 4am just after everyone else had gone to bed, after telling a girl I used to like (a lot) about how I used to fancy her, but I liked that we could be close friends, she then gave me a big kiss and went to bed, I stood alone next to the dying embers of our camp fire, surveying the scene in a half-drunk haze, listening to the distant sounds of drunken people whooping and laughing, and staring at the stars through the layer of smoke covering the campsite. I stood there for a good half an hour.

And the other one was with the same girl (back when I really wanted her something bad), valentines day a few years ago. She had broken up with her boyfriend a few days earlier (which she wasn't too upset about, it was inevitable really). We spent the entire evening watching films, drinking and just talking curled up on my bed, then at about 5am I walked her home, the sun was just starting to rise and making all the ice on the road sparkle, and the stars were still out. We walked the 500metres or so to her house, slipping most of the way and holding onto each other for balance. When we got to her front door, we embraced, I said "you know, this is the best valentines day I've had in a while", and she smiled, and then we kissed (but not a full-on snog, just a long, meaningful, lovely kiss), we stopped after about 10 seconds, I smiled at her, turned to leave, but she pulled me back and kissed me again, this time with a bit of tongue, and said "Me too".

When we finally parted, we did that cliche'd 'holding hands until we couldn't reach each other' thing, then I waited to see she got into her house ok, turned around, and walked home the long way on cloud nine. While walking through a wooded section I saw a baby fox and its mum trotting across the road.

Then I got home, opened my window and fell asleep to the sound of birds singing.

We're still good friends to this day, but I've never told her that Valentines Day 2003 rates in my top 5 ace moments in my life.
