Halva
I don't remember what it was meant to taste like or what it was made of but it had the texture and flavour of window putty.

I love halva
Mainly I think its meant to taste of almond, but the pistachio one is lush

I thought the original was poppy seed,
But my only recollection of enjoying it is as a child when it was bought from the market. The missus tried to make some and, apparently, it's mainly birned flour (She had a reciepe) -- I'm a bit dissapointed.

Halva
Halva is generally minced sesame seeds and honey. I prefer the vanilla one, but I've also found a very nice chocolate version. :)

I think the missus must have made "Iranian Value Halva".
It kind of tasted like it, and wasn't all that bad, but nothing comapred to the stuff from Bradford market I ate in my youth.

You can make a sort of halva spread
out of tahini and honey, just spread the tahini and dribble the honey on top. Utterly gorgeous on buttered white crusty bread.

Actual halva is much the same, mixed better and baked. All these nutty and chocolate additives are unnecessary distractions in my book - it's superb just as it is.
