This is a question Blood

Like a scene from The Exorcist, I once spewed a stomach-full of blood all over a charming nurse as I came round after a major dental operation. Tell us your tales of red, red horror.

Possibly bindun, but I really should mention it
One thing I hate is people who get squeamish about blood.

You don't complain about the 9 pints of blood inside you, but you get scared over a few drops of blood.

If you hate blood so much, try living without it, and see how long you last.

true...
but I'm sure people like that only have a problem with blood being outside of the body, I can't imagine squeamish people walking around going "YOURE ALL FULL OF BLOOD OH GOD SO AM I AAARG"
...though that would be so awesome to see.

i think the main complaint
is about bits of those 9 pints escaping to the outside world. not about them existing at all

besides, squeamishness is a bit of a basic reaction to the sight of blood all over the place rather than a properly thought through objection to seeing it. it's under about as much conscious control as sneezing (i.e. you can suppress it a bit with practice, but you don't get to pick how you want to react)

i disagree
its a natural reaction to worry when you are bleeding.

it means you are cut and injured in some way and should rest/get medical care.

Id like to see you slice through an artery and walk around like nothings bothering you.

Crikey
Is it only 9 pints? I thought it was more...

The reason is, I imagine,
that it's all well and good to have 9 pints of blood inside you, where it's supposed to be.
If you manage to see your own blood, it's clearly not inside you, and therefore panicing is a fairly logical thing to do - survival instinct and all that.

edit: what kierz said then
