Worked in an outbound call centre for a summer and a bit
Actually, 'tele-appointing', but outbound nonetheless.

It wasn't 'bad' telesales, as you weren't selling anything and you did need a head on your shoulders to do it, as you were calling people who earn 6 figures a year. It didn't matter.

The monotony made me want to literally pull my own tongue out. Just click, click, click, dial, try and get through, tap out a note about the result, next one. For 8 hours.

The money was quite good, even without any commission basis, but Jesus Christ...

I remember my first job
at Zenith. That was hell on earth...

There are some awful monotonous jobs there, but b2b is great - people are civil and you have a product.

Also there is huge scope for creativity and quick thinking.

It can be monotonous as you are aiming for targets and doing the same things daily, but every call is different and in my role I have so much to do all the time it stays fun.
