This is a question The Credit Crunch

Did you score a bargain in Woolworths?
Meet someone nice in the queue to withdraw your 10p from Northern Rock?
Get made redundant from the job you hated enough to spend all day on b3ta?

How has the credit crunch affected you?

HBOS can suck my sweaty cock
I went £1.14 overdrawn on Saturday. The impending £35 charge has put a real downer on our wedding anniversery this Saturday.

The nice country pub meal we were planning on in Swaledale somewhere will now most likely be the £3.50-a-head carvery from the local pub.

Fucking banks.
Make an appointment with the Bank Manager and tell them you are not paying it and will move banks if necessary (if that is an option). Most of the time they will strike it off when it's something as petty as a quid overdrawn.

Change banks
I do have 2 dormant accounts. One with Yorkshire Bank and one with LloydsTSB.

However, I am well into a £1500 overdraft with the Halifax. I suppose I can just switch everything over to the other banks, and they can whistle for their money

The bigger your debt to them
The greater your earning potential and thus the greater reluctance on their part to let you go.

An account with a modest amount in it that never really changes is, to them, the crappest account on their books...

Your overdraft is the key to your bargaining power.

I went £1.51 over my overdraft limit last week
and they charged me £22 for the privilege. This is despite the fact that my brother put £20 into my account the same day to cover it, the fact that I went overdrawn in the first place still counts as a misdemeanour in their eyes :(

Most expensive poster ever.

Go for a combined account
Where mortgage, current, et al are all part of the same account.

Fair enough, you're never in credit - but you also don't have to piss about with bank charges.

Banks can go cunt themselves in the fuck.
They nicked about £300 from me, Mr Lewis showed me how to get it back, and I did. Go me!
They should never be bailed out, they should be left to collapse.

What a great idea
you should be the chancellor. You clearly have an excellent grasp of modern finances.

Learn some simple lessons
Like not spending other people's money without asking first. That's what you're doing when you go overdrawn, so don't moan when they charge you.

Try writing a letter to the manager
Explaining that it was a one off and the funds were going in the next day to cover it. I did this once and they cancelled the charge as an act of grace.

Or just cunt them in the fuck.

Bean on toast
£ 3-50 a head carvery !!!!!!

Sounds like a meal of Student Proportions !

That amount wouldn't even get you a decent pint down our way.
