This is a question Dad stories

"Do anything good for your birthday?" one of your friendly B3TA moderator team asked in one of those father/son phone calls that last two minutes. "Yep," he said, "Your mum." Tell us about dads, lack of dad and being a dad.

Raised eyebrows after this one
My dad sometimes gets his words wrong. Most amusingly, when he was talking about wanting to hit a gay man who had tried to take advantage of his trusting youthfulness after he got stranded in a strange city. Apparently he would have loved to have given him a good 'fisting'.

Sounds made up; sadly (or more accurately, fantastically) is not. Love you, Pops.

Reminds me of my brother.
He talked to my brother, my friend, and me about how 'stoned' my aunt was at a family get-together -- he meant drunk, since only my little bro and myself have ever tried 'drugs'.

"Stoned" was the right word,
it's just more common to hear it used in reference to cannabis use, as we have so many other, more popular, words for drunk.

It may be technically correct,
but I think the people in the pub who overheard us were sniggering because they heard the meaning we did too.
