This is a question Have you ever seen a dead body?

How did you feel?
Upset? Traumatised? Relieved? Like poking it with a stick?

Hmmmmmm!
Yes, mainly car crash victims-never pretty or peaceful looking.
Strangely, always feel sadder seeing a roadkill animal-just me? Or am I bad?

Yes, you're bad, very bad indeed
Naaah,

I'm the same.

A couple of years ago was on my way to work and saw a dead cat in the gutter that looked just like mine. Even though mine was alive and well several miles away I completely lost it and started blubbing.

not just you...
although this isn't really related - I was playing Crysis last night. After many hours of killing Korean soldiers I shot a Turtle and felt bad a bout it... My flat mate said he gets teh same reaction to stuff like that.

Its not that we are bad... just a bit fucked up I suppose...

On a similar vein - the (awful awful) film equillibrium has a bit where loads of rebles are violently gunned down, all shown in classic Hollywood style, the moment for the pet dogs t obe shot though, the camera pans away and all we hear is the sound... Seems that the people of America are fine with people getting sht, but will go mad about seeing a cute lil pupper taking one...

An explanation?
Humans know what roads are about, and make an informed decision to accept the risks of being on or near them.

Animals are innocent of roads, don't benefit from them, and don't understand the dangers that come with them.

That's why it's sadder when it's an animal.
