This is a question Desperate Times

Stranded in a hotel in an African war zone with no internet access for two weeks, I was forced to resort to desperate measures. Possessing only my passport and the clothes I stood up in; and the warning "You can catch it shaking hands with a vicar out there" ringing in my ears, I had to draw my own porn in order to preserve my sanity.

Alas, it all came out looking like Coronation Street's Audrey Roberts, but, as they say, any port in a storm.

What have you done in times of great desperation?

Listening to football fans change their minds entirely several times during the course of a single game drives me wilf
I am constantly at the point of shouting 'Listen to yourself!' as I hear a drone of opinion based entirely on scorelines, regardless of any other factor.

Yup...
...me too. I've tried to fathom exactly what it is about this game that makes them care so much.

Not cracked it yet though. Not losing any sleep for it either - on the game itself and any result/lack of, given everything else that's going on in the world, seriously, who cares? I wish that this life was so good that I could consider such a thing as worth getting on one about :)

Edit for Frankie: Is right RE politics - I'm of the opinion that they're all too shit to be worth my time in voting for them. Besides, whichever flavour winds up at the top, they're still subject to the whim of the rich arseholes who are the ones really pulling the strings. The only difference between us and the states is that our arselholes are a tad more subtle about it.

I thought it was haircuts and football strips.
Plus netting. Ohhhhhh, never forget the netting.

same with politics
If the opinion polls are right, some people - most people - change their minds daily about which party they support or which leader they trust. Could these same people be football fans?
