Not so much dumb as help me I'm turning into my mother.
I've just ironed a duvet cover because I've got guests coming round.

Beware of getting old - I'll be ironing my teatowels next.

Stay away from the light !!!!
My Sister in law irons socks and underpants!

She also aranges her biscuits in her biscuit tin in order depending on size and shape !!!

Stay with us .... resist the urge ... do not walk towards the light !!!!!!!!

It's ok
I only gave it a waz with the iron - it still looks creased to shit.

Could be worse.
You could own sock organisers.

I feel your pain
I polished the door-handles on Christmas Eve cos we had guests coming.
Then realised that I too am turning into my mum.

Okay....confession time
I used to have a drawer in my kitchen where I kept all my herbs and spices (they keep longer out of direct sunlight) and....

I had them in alphabetical order.

I also used to iron duvet covers, pillowcases, gussets of knickers (kills any potential germs!), kids' vests, tea towels, napkins (yes, I even had napkins).

I baked muffins, made jam, baked cakes, pies, cooked pretty much everything from scratch, milked goats by hand, collected eggs from my chickens and was an all-round perfect farmer's wife. I was even rosy-cheeked and slightly lumpy.

But now all that's behind me. I don't iron, cook much, I'm still rosy-cheeked (face like a well smacked arse as my dear dad puts it) but no longer lumpy - climbing instead of milking!

laziness protects me
Why the fuck would you iron a DUVET COVER???

Ah
My mother got into the habit of not ironing anything and leaving it in a monster pile large enough to hide two of me, so I took to ironing everything, yes, including tea towels and duvet covers and stuff, in fact, I learnt to iron on knickers (well, if you screw up who's going to see them?)

Our duvets are too big for me now :( I'm only 4'11", and we have a huge duvet or Mr Squared steals it all, so I physically can't iron the bugger. It's rather nice :D

...still do the tea towels though. Hummmmm....
