This is a question Famous people I hate

Michael McIntyre, says our glorious leader. Everyone loves Michael McIntyre. Even the Daily Mail loves Michael McIntyre. Therefore, he must be a git. Who gets on your nerves?

Hint: A list of names, possibly including the words 'Katie Price' and 'Nuff said' does not an interesting answer make

Top Gear

Messrs Clarkson May and Hammond.

Frankly the contrived spontaneity act doesnt wash anymore. Wake up BBC, this so called motoring program is a vehicle for three over inflated egos who wouldnt know what a regular car was if it fucking ran them over. Car of the decade..a Bugatti Veyron! Get real you wankers, how many of them are cruising the local roads?

As for Clarkson doing his faux "northern" accent...you are fooling no one you cunt, you grew up in Doncaster , the offspring of a woman who had a penchant for making Paddington bear toys who could send her Jerrikins off to public school when he was old enough.

You might be privelaged to live in the Cotswolds, but what gives you the moral authority to sneer condescendingly at the rest of us you overblown ego maniac?

Car of the decade
should've been my Mk1 Laguna that is now 10 years old with 162k miles on the clock and still going strong.

How many Veyrons will reach that sort of mileage? None

Sounds like a good un..

Its not about elitist cars, it should be about what the rest of us are getting about in.

That's why they should either
bring back the old format or

people should watch Fifth Gear more.

Keep it
I had one, then bought a MK ii which gave me no end of bother. The first one ran for 190000 miles, 135000 of them with me. The other one was a pile of shite.

that's just it though -
it is not a program about ordinary cars. It used to be and when it was, it ran into debt and was unpopular. Now, it's pure fantasy and entertainment and is a global brand which netted Clarkson et al nearly a million each last year on top of their wages. It makes the BBC money too which can only be a good thing cos if ITV and SKY ever rule the British airwaves, it will be a sad time indeed.

I don't drive. I don't know anything about cars. Top Gear is a very entertaining show though. I like James May cos he's like a glimpse at my future curmudgeonly, gadget-loving, borderline-Luddite self and his programming about toys and Britain is also very entertaining (even though I'm Irish).

Even Clarksons' offshoot shows about meeting the neighbours and his short-lived talk show was good entertainment. I don't agree with his politics but he is entertaining, informative and funny.

ps - I knows this QOTW is called 'Famous People I hate'. Hammond is a twit.

I like James May
He gets to do all sorts of cool stuff outside of his Top Gear character. Like when he nearly went into space in the American spyplane.

Fuck it, I love the car pr0n
Why the hell would I want to watch a programme about cars I can afford? All that would do is depress me. "This week on Top Gear we road test a 2000 Honda HRV". While I am getting a bit bored of all the fake crap in the 'challenges', I still want to watch the £300k Lexus being thrashed round the track and Bugattis being raced from Italy to London. Bollocks to Puntos and Corsas. Hurrah for Lotus Elise versus Apache gunship!
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 15:27, closed)
Well, quite.
If I wanted to see a Punto, I could go into town. There's lots of them there.

There's not so many Koenigseggs knocking around Fort William, frankly.
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 15:56, closed)
Careful!
I'm with you 100% on this but don't let Captn Hood-Butter see this, he gets really upset. Love i guess.
(, Tue 9 Feb 2010, 16:33, closed)
It's not what it was
But I've nothing against it, I think it's very fashionable to hate on Top Gear at the moment and you're not a fan.

Veyron as car of the decade? Well in terms of the greatest engineering acheivement over the decade, I'm stumped for a better one. It's a very subjective award. All TG could be accused of is inconsistency - one year Car of the Year is a Golf, the next it's a Phantom.

Clarkson's (very occasional) Northern accent is clearly satirical too. Plenty of people hate JC and they're allowed to. Just at least hate him for genuine reasons.

May
is alright. I could spend an evening with him in a pub somewhere.

I'd probably end up mothering Hammond.

As for Clarkson? You don't want to know what I'd do to him.

i still want a veyron
they're fucking gorgeous
