Hey you guys!
The Goonies

when I was young I watched this every. single. day.

and it is still awesome now.

I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that as a child the thing you wanted more than most was to get to go on a real life adventure (somehow involving pirates). This film brought that to life.

Great film.
Every school had a kid who would willingly* do the truffle shuffle.

Yay! The Goonies.
I recently introduced my seven year old nephew to this film and he loves it too now.

TOTALLY!
I LOVED LOVED LOVED the Goonies! When I was a nipper, my best friend was this girl up the street from me and her Mom took us to the PX (Post Exchange, military shopping center) and we picked out these plastic shovels because we were SURE that pirates had buried treasure SOMEWHERE in our backyards!

So we spent days searching and this one day...we FOUND something! It was wood for sure! So we continued digging and it turned out it was some old boards from when they built the houses in our neighborhood. We were shattered! So we went up the hill to her house and listened to her Raggedy Ann records and played dress-up!

I always thought Goonies was missing more of that 'dress up' element (sure they dress up in the attic, but come one: those were real Pirate outfits!).

XOXO

I swear to God
There was a kid in my school who looked almost exactly like sloth

Everytime he roamed the corridors, he would be greeted with cries of "HEY YOU GUYS! Baby Ruth!"

Goonies never say die!
Yep couldn't agree more a true classic.

It's probably me getting old but I think the 80's had all the best films.

Great film
Until I saw the outtakes I could never figure out where an octopus came into it.

@ThatGirl
I know how you must have felt. When I was about seven, a friend and I were "exploring" in the field behind our houses and found what could only have been a fragment of an antique vase (Roman, I decided). Rather than letting us down gently, my father guffawed and told us it was actually just part of a ceramic insulator from one of the telegraph poles.
