This is a question Things we do to fit in

"When I was fifteen," writes No3L, "I curled up in a Budgens trolley while someone pushed it through the supermarket doors to nick vodka and Benny Hedgehogs, just to hang out with my brother and his mates."

What have you done to fit in?

Jap wisdom?
It's called lying, Legless. Simple as that.

True
But put yourself in my shoes. I couldn't exactly stand up in front of all those doctors, dressed in a t-shirt and shorts and say:

"Look you technically illiterate cunts. Here's the new database. Like it or lump it. I'm going for a pint."

So I had to lie. I had to smooch. I had to stroke egos and pander to preconceptions.

The reality was that I hated every second of that presentation - mainly because I have a deep-seated fear of public speaking. I was shitting it inside that I would be either too technical, not technical enough or, the big one, dry up and give my famed dear-in-the-headlights impression.

But I'm a chameleon. Just like you.

Cheers
