Church of the Rave
God loves to rave

hyperreal.org/raves/spirit/culture/Rave_Mass.html

Remember the furore about the raving vicar and his mass/rave sessions. Sounded fucking ace, and the above link gives a lovely description of a weekends 'god bothering', Aphex style.

Not sure if the vicar in question got the jail or not, some sort of sexy tiem scandal, if my memory serves me correctly.

It sounds like a super idea though. I mean, if you are prone to raving, i'm sure you had a 'spiritual' experience whilst throwing shapes on the dancefloor. I know i have.

People get 'God' and spirituality mixed up. I think on myself as a spiritual person. But i don not believe in the existence of God, aka, some bearded fucker who created the universe and what not. It is plainly a load of cobbled together shite.

Yes, there is a binding force, of that there is no doubt. Call it nature, mathematics, cymatics, conciousness....whatever. Everything in the known universe is composed of vibrations.

So you could say that 'God' is music. Thereby, the house of 'God', is in fact the clubs and raveholes that are packed every weekend, up and down the length of the country.

Bring back the Spiritual Raves, and instead of a sacrament, a cheeky wee pill is placed on your tongue.

Indeed shite
"a load of cobbled together shite."

What, like this?

"Yes, there is a binding force, of that there is no doubt. Call it nature, mathematics, cymatics, conciousness....whatever. Everything in the known universe is composed of vibrations."

"We'd both say we were spiritual people..."
"Spiritual? Are you testing me Satan?"

i would
hardly call 'nature' a load of cobbled together shite.

Mathematics is pretty much real, i'm sure you will agree.

Cymatics is the study of wave phenomena. It is typically associated with the physical patterns produced through the interaction of sound waves in a medium. (wiki) And from a personal point of view, and according to the irrepresible Hans Jenny 'everything owes its existence to sound'. I just love this theory. The possibility that the universe was a mass of unordered matter, then from somewhere, nowhere, came a vibration, and this vibration brought order and patterns to the matter and everything we see today is a consequence of this vibration.

A flight of fancy maybe, who cares, i like it.

Conciousness, well, although it is hard to localise within the brain, i'm pretty certain that exists as well.

The invention of God in all his guises seems to me to be nothing more than a tool for enslaving the minds of people throughout the ages. Yes, it's safe to belive whatever the fuck you like, God included, just don't go out and murder someone else because they don't believe in what you believe.

Live and let live.

Conciousness is the way the brain works. The brain IS conciousness, if you will.
And that vibration stuff is just silly.

Quite
Precisely, my assertion was not that nature is a load of cobbled together shite (although that's actually a reasonable thing to say given the chaotic way in which it has developed and it's earthiness). But that statements like

"Yes, there is a binding force, of that there is no doubt."

and

"Everything in the known universe is composed of vibrations."

look rather like cobbled-together shite since there is no evidence for them and, more importantly, they don't really mean anything.

But rather than
wait for evidence that will probably never come. It is worth a punt developing your own theories as to the how, and why of it all.

I vaguely outlined what 'I' think it is all about, eg: vibrations producing structure, from the quantam level upwards.

I'm not saying it's de-facto, but it's my favoured theory, and i'm sticking with it.

And while it may not mean anything to you, or anyone else for that matter, that doesn't really have any impact on me. If I chose to muse and allow my brain a bit of freetime to explore these possibilities, then fuck it. I mean, we all wonder about this sort of shit, but never really come to any definitive answers, as there is no prove, or evidence, as you say

I see it as entertainment for quiet nights, or an assault course for when the mushies are on the menu.

I do firmly believe however, that this reality, the one we travel through on a day to day basis, is not the be all and end all.

Look on it like a radio. This reality is Radio 4, and we are firmly tuned in to it, and the programs and songs that are broadcast on radio 4 compose our everyday experiences.

Now, what if we move the dial a bit and tune into another radio station, say a nice ragga/jungle pirate radio station this time. Well, radio 4 hasn't went anywhere, its still broadcasting, its just that we have detuned and are picking up a different frequency/signal.

Then you ask, how many radio stations are there in total?

I'm sure it will all be revealed to us as the brain dumps some weapons grade DMT into our synapses at the point of death.

Then it will all make sense.

Hopefully.

Ok
I think I'll leave you to your theories. I've no idea where you got them from, nor why you favour them particularly over any other suggestion that you could have plucked out of thin air. It appears that you just like the sound of them and that's enough for you. I'm happy that you've found something that works for you.
