This is a question Will you go out with me?

"Bloody Kraut, a" asks, "How did you get your current flame to go out with you? If they turned you down, how bad was it?"

Was it all romantic? Or were the beer goggles particularly strong that night?

McDonalds
I used to work at McDonalds, Grand Central, Stockport. Oh the horror. Good place for meeting teh grils though.

I went to uni, and invited one of my colleagues to come and stay. Unbelieveably, she actually turned up.

We spent an entire evening, from about 6pm to 4am on the sofa watching TV, inching toward each other. At about midnight, our hips were touching. At 2am, shoulders. About 3.30am she leaned her head on my shoulder. My heart nearly exploded. I thought that maybe, just maybe, I was in there. I said:

"Do you want to go out with me?"

"erm, yeah ok."

We went to bed. My single bed. Fully clothed.

Rubbish.

Never even got a shag. She pretty much ignored me for three months. We met up back at McDonalds at the christmas holidays. After 3 shifts of no talking and total and utter awkwardness I cornered her in the 'crew room'. She looked pissed off.

I said "Look, this isnt working out. I think we should split up."

She looked confused, realised what I was saying and replied, "yeah, right, fine, cheers".

And that was it. I am a love GOD.

hahaha
we used to end up in there when i was about 14 and we'd been drinking at coco savannah (oh the shame) or the george (much worse).

we were the idiots who ran through the drive through and ordered "a filet of fish for my vife" as the advert said at the time. yeah, i bet that had never been done before...

i used to love it there
twas about 1990, 1991 though. They've replaced all the staff (except 1 strangely) with retarded amoebas since "our time" but i've never had a better time. I served so many celebs in there - and really obscure ones like:

Harold & Madge off of neighbours
Martin & Lance off of Home and Away (theres a theme here)
Michaela Strachan and Pete Waterman who used to come through the drive thru in a limo cos they were doing the Hitman & Her at Cocos a lot. (what a show!).
All of corrie, every bleedin week - mostly the Mcdonald brothers, and Ken Barlow.
Loads more.

I worked window 1 on the drive thru a lot, I got so used to saying "welcome to mcdonalds, please can I take your order" in to the headset, everytime it beeped, I started doing it whenever I answerd the phones.

After late night shifts, we used to go into town for the last hours clubbing (some times at the Hac) or someones flat to get stoned. I discovered many of the finer things in my life - culturally - in that period of my life. I'll always have Bret Easton Ellis books, Janes Addiction's Ritual De Lo Habitual from that time. Loved every second of it.

that's
exactly when we used to go, i was 14 in 1991. happy days!

although your days were clearly much happier than ours if you ended up at the hac rather than coco.

i remember harold and madge starring in the panto at the davenport theatre up the a6 (now flattened as part of stockport grammar's scheme to take over the world)!

I went to see
a couple of comedians there, phil cool i think (whatever happened to him) and jasper carrott. i remember the chippendales performing there as well, and being barged out of the way for the school bus by a load of menopausal drooling women.

it is now part of the sgs car park, i believe.

do you still speak to that cousin?!

jasper
i went to Jasper Carrot there as well, possibly Phil Cool as well.

My cousin got married at the hotel over the road. Thats about as far as she got in life. She's cleaned up a bit though. She was a nightmare child. Some would say she's paying for it now but i wont elaborate.
