Don't ever live in the US.
Portion sizes[*] are huge, and the first year I was here I put on almost 3 stone. All gone now, thankfully, and dropping a little more, but it was a shock to see what a bloated lard ass I had become.
[*] Of food. They still almost universally insist on ridiculously effete 16oz pints of beer. Which means I've just necked the last of the ale and was just getting a taste for it. Oh well, it means I've usually got another lined up waiting. Score!
