This is a question "Needless to say, I had the last laugh"

Celebrity autobiographies are filled to the brim with self-righteous tales of smug oneupmanship. So, forget you had any shame, grab a coffee and a croissant, and tell us your smug tales of when you got one over somebody.

Thanks to Ring of Fire for the suggestion

Jews are a race, mostly, though
It's to do with the whole "you're only Jewish if your mum was Jewish" rule, unless you convert

Judaism is a religion, isn't it? Can't one convert to Judaism, and/or leave it?
"non-practising" jews, converts, etc?

That sounds like a choice thing to me - not a race.

For all my rather charming and conceited flippancy, it's important to delineate types of bigotry and not to over-use calls of it - something Sasha Baron Cohen highlighted with the Ali G character.

Inappropriate cries of "racism" and "is it because I is ... " lead to a "cry wolf" syndrome where such calls become background noise and increasingly ignored.

It's for this reason that people who make unfounded accusations are punished.

It's possible to join, but it's usually because the convert in question is marrying a Jew
Generally you're either born into it or you're not - non-practising Jews are people who are born into it but are essentially atheists

It's a murky area, but I'd say Jews are more of a "race" than Islams or Xians are

My mum is half Jewish (nightmare worrier and hen pecker)
Non practicing but I don't consider it a race, who had the last laugh here?

edit- oh the fact he is in the paper, he doesn't look to comftable with that.

As I understood it, you can be 'ethnically Jewish' or 'culturally Jewish'.

How can one be "ethnically" Jewish
What with Judaism being a religion?

It's a region as much as a religion, i believe.
In Cheshire, synagogues are full of refreshing orange jews.

Dear Christ - those two words.
Brilliance.

"So - if you could just come in, and say the line, if that's OK? Kewl, kewl." - sheer genius.
