In celebration of this, what is the nicest thing someone's done for you? Whether you thoroughly deserved it or it came out of the blue, tell us of heartwarming, selfless acts by others.

It is a pit.I grew up there and have now escaped. When visiting my family, I go armed.

I grew up near there.My choices for a local cinema were Bedford (and a long walk across town) or Luton.
I started prefering the walk across Bedford after getting trapped in the cinema at Luton by the police, who were dealing with a mob of boozed up football idiots from the pub across the road.
