This is a question PE Lessons

For some they may have been the highlight of the school week, but all we remember is a never-ending series of punishments involving inappropriate nudity and climbing up ropes until you wet yourself.

Tell us about your PE lessons and the psychotics who taught them.

Ever so slightly topic askew...
I have numerous tales of cricket ball/knackers interfacing and humiliating school showers stories etc. but by and large all of my PE teachers have been reasonably decent human beings. However, I cannot think about school PE lessons without immediately being aware of the greatest pain known to mankind...forget scrunched gonads, forget kidney stones and ladies you can forget childbirth...a wet size 5 leather football full pelt to the bare thigh on a rain soaked, muddy winter's day with the temperature hovering perilously close to zero. Nothing can prepare you.

I never played with proper leather footballs
But the flyaways that they sold in my school used to sting like buggery if they ever caught you on a cold day.

An old fashioned leather football
would absorb water when playing in the rain, with the result that its weight increased by a huge amount and its elasticity decreased similarly.

It was like playing football with a pumpkin.

I'm now rather glad I'm a bit younger!

Can't remember what it was called
but one of the lads at primary school used to have one and on a wet day it would be quite a challenge for 10 year olds to play with!
