The last Lord Hungerford...lost his entire estate to gambling debts some two centuries ago, and his children and their family scattered to the four winds. A significant number of them made their way to the United States;despite his ancestor's hard luck, the man who would otherwise hold the manor today retains some measure of dignity as a computer engineer in Arizona - and I am proud to have called such a good and decent guy a friend.
