This is a question Professions I Hate

Broken Arrow says: Bankers, recruitment consultants, politicians. What professions do you hate and why?

Not really.
I did do a degree and HND but fell into Sales. It's not that intellectually demanding, but it's fun and the fact you have to be sharp and able to think on your feet makes it a challenge. You also get to speak to people all over the world, which can be fascinating (and frustrating). Also it means you have options with what to do in your spare time; there's no financial pressure. Money gives you options, and that makes life so much easier.

The only downside is the constant, immense pressure and stress and the fact I work from 0530 to 1630 (ish) Mon-Thurs, and 0600-1200 on Friday, and take calls in the evening. That and the fact you constantly have to be driven. Also the fact that if you're ever ill, or anything, you lose the majority of your income. And that a bad mood, or personal problems can decimate your figures.

On balance though, selling people things they don't know they need is a real buzz.

Hmmm. You use the word "fascinating"
and claim that having to be sharp and think on your feet is "a challenge".

You state that you have a degree.

You're a telephone salesman, and eschew the joy of money.

Like I said, I don't dig people who's earnings are a topic of conversation.
