This is a question Pubs

Jeccy writes, "I've seen people having four-somes, fights involving spastics and genuine retarded people doing karaoke, all thanks to the invention of the common pub."

What's happened in your local then?

any Derby b3tards here?
If yes, then answer me this...

since when did the Blue Dog turn into some chavvy piece-of-shit?

The blue dog was an awesome studenty rock pub, with a great and friendly atmos, cheap drinks and a half pipe in the beer garden

I went upto Derby not long ago for my graduation ceremony, and was going out for a drink in the evening to celebrate, went into the 'Dog' to find that it was playing monotonous clubland garbage, the half pipe in the beer garden had dissapeared, and it was full of chavs looking at you as if 'our sort aren't welcome anymore'

When did this happen?

cheers

Was up in Derby
last October(ish). Yep, your right. That place used to be a giggle but has now sadly died on its arse. And if anymore of those fucking 'shots girls' think that by wearing skimpy clothes I'm gonna pay triple for some weak as piss booze, well, they can quite simply fuck off... (though I will have a good look)...

dude
those 'shots' are practically like the liquid remains from the driptrays on the bar, poured into a bottle and sold by...like you said..thick tarts in skimpy clothes

Not from Derby
but my brother who is 14 years my junior was at university there so I have been in the Blue Dog with him a few times when visiting.

Seemed OK but it ain't much fun being the oldest in there by a full 10 years or more.

What's the pub that is long and thin with books on shelves type olde worlde charm and an ageing punk/rocker clientelle? I liked that place.

Gutted :(
I was in there a while back and it was still great. Spent many happy nights watching drunken ppl fall down the half pipe!

Just please tell me the Bless is still a proper pub...
