This is a question School Projects

MostlySunny wibbles, "When I was 11 I got an A for my study of shark nets - mostly because I handed it in cut out in the shape of a shark."

Do people do projects that don't involve google-cut-paste any more? What fine tat have you glued together for teacher?

geography, first year
the calendar project

i found geography unbearably tedious (still do, in fact, which is why i humiliated myself at a wedding yesterday by thinking that the honeymooning couple were off down under to see tasmanian devils... in tanzania.... anyway), and did not spend overly long on mine.

which is why i was surprised to be pulled up to the front of the class and made to hold my project in front of me to show them all. beaming proudly, i skipped up to the front, and did as i was told.

yeah, turned out it was to show them all how NOT to do it. 4/40. and a severe bollocking. to rub salt into my smarting wounds, as i limped back to my chair, the teacher barked: "and if you're upset about that low mark, i can show you what position you came in the class, if you like. now that's a very high number indeed..."

Urrgh
I hated Geography. In the days of GCE's, I got an Unclassified.

But I reckon it wasn't stupidity that caused this result, it was this:

1. Gets to school, ready to sit exam.

2. Realises: "Oh shit, I've forgotten all my pens + pencils! I need some coloured ones to draw some pretty diagrams about rainfall or indigenous populations" (well, OK, maybe it was stupidity after all).

3. Sees younger sister walk by, explains plight.

4. Later, just before the exam starts, the invigilator holds up a pink Paddington Bear pencil case: "Whose is this?"...

Still can't understand how it got on the floor near his table, but I had to walk to the front of the room to get it...

Maths
Some teachers are cnuts like that. I remember my Maths teacher stopping me in the corridor once during break to inform me that I'd scored 35% in the recent exam. I was naturally upset but he reassured me that when he handed the papers back in the next lesson he would pass mine to me discreetly and not say a thing.

Was he true to his word? Was he fuck.

Next maths lesson cue Mr Peat making a complete spectacle of yours truly infront of the rest of the class - "ha ha ha, what a dumb fuck McGriffto is", or words to that effect.

Spiteful arsewipe.
