This is a question Tactless

As grandmasterfluffles puts it, "My ex once told me, "That's the best sex I've ever had... Well, apart from with my cousin..."
What's the most tactless thing you've heard? And was it you saying it?

New baby
Mate of a mate had a baby.

We were all invited round so the girls could coo over the little cutie. When I asked what they'd decided to call him, the proud new mum said "Jude". For some reason, my mouth said what I was thinking (I wasn't even drunk!) and I said "Oh my god! Why?"

I left soon after.

Exactly
They had to be told.

Hmm
It is a bit obscure.

Edit: come to think of it, a classmate of mine from university has a son called Jude. He (the father) was always a bit on the eccentric side, though.

It's a fucking stupid name anyway.
x 100, per year, for the next 80 years:

"Hey, Jude"

"What?"

"Don't be afraid"

No law against it.

Keeping things in proportion
"Jude" is pretty bad, but at least it's not one of the names which guarantee a hyperactive little shit, like "Luke", "Rhys" or "Conor".

ooh yes.
also :- Tyson, Dylan, Tyrone, Tyler.

Oi! I have one of them!
My better half's a teacher, so we were careful to avoid all the "this child has no future" names.

It may be a regional thing.
Like, I live in australia, and frankly most of the population has got names like that and most of the population has no future.
