This is a question Vandalism

I got a load of chalk, felt-tip markers and paint from friends one Christmas in a thinly-veiled attempt to get me involved with their plan to vandalise the toilets at the local park. My downfall: Signing my name. Tell us your stories of anti-social behaviour.

Thanks to Bamboo Steamer for the suggestion

M1 - Between Junction 36 and 37
There is a bridge that has the word GOURANGA written on it. Whenever I pass it, I always think of running over and killing a gaggle of Hare Krishna for fuckloads of points.

I don't know if it's still the case...
... but that used to be written on every motorway bridge.

It's the only one I have ever seen. Anyone else spotted?

Thinking about it, not just motorway bridges.
It used to be scrawled on railway bridges too, and stickers stuck on public toilet doors and the like.

For years and years and years
I honestly believed that Gouranga was the name of a civil engineering company that specialised in bridge maintenance.

Useless fact time.
That bridge used to carry the railway from Worsborough to Silkstone Common over it. I used to travel along that stretch of the M1 every week, and it made me smile.

Always wondered what that meant
and always meant to look it up. But forgot. Cheers for that.

According to wiki the appearance of it on bridges ORIGINATED IN SCOTLAND. Naturally. Give me strength.

Heh
I used to see that almost every day, and used to live not too far from there. My Grandad built a few of the bridges round there... but I always wondered how they managed to get it up there. Worst thing is, it's been there for the best part of 20 years I reckon.
