This is a question Vomit Pt2

It's been nearly six years since we last asked about your worst vomit, so:

Tell us tales of what went in, what came out and where it all went after that.

Educational.
I was told that full-fat Coca-Cola was a good anti-emetic.

Based on today's evidence, that is sometimes not so.

But it does make your sick brown and fizzy.

Does
it neutralise some of the acid reflux?

Nope.
It does - or did on this occasion - almost exactly fuck all.

hESC Anti-Migraine
...I'm with you on this. I don't drink often but when I do I have two or three days afterwards when I'm ... bleurgh.

Oh, yeah.
I had a drink with dinner, but was stone cold sober last night. Still enough to act as a catalyst, though. Meh.

Bad times!
Nothing settles a migraine vomit for me. Once it hits, I know I'm just along for the ride.

I doubt it, it's really acidic!

Flat coke
is good for an upset tummy; whether it stops you barfing or not, I don't know.

It's probably a reasonably good thing to rehydrate yourself with afterwards, providing you get some salt down yourself as well.

Defintely
It has to be flat. It's worked for me for an upset stomach.

My dear old mum
used to prescribe flat coke for an upset stomach too. I thought she was mental but she was right!

Flat coke syrup
is what we use in hospital.
(, Wed 13 Jan 2010, 3:39, closed)
That is SUCH a good idea.
The sugar rush and caffeine could help with the headache, too...

Works for me
I have regular bouts of sickiness (long story) and have found that full fat Coke sometimes stays down better than plain old H2O. I put it down to the bubbles breaking up the surface tension of the vomit and releasing any trapped gas from under it, so all that comes up are burps rather than stomach contents. It needs to be out of the fridge ideally too, as the coolness helps reduce the discomfort of bile burns in the oesophagus!
