Lurker Extrodinaire. Maybe one of the longest still-active lurkers. We're an endangered breed.

Random bloke. Into music that's anything but R&B and mass manufactured pop, occasionally attempts to play the piano and guitar. Books of anything bar trashy romance novels (Ask me about Neil Gaimen or Phil K Dick). Loves Asian movies and anime, big fan of Infernal Affairs, Oldboy, Studio Ghibli. Loves nature and science, the environment is just... forever fascinating.

Can be found lurking around Bournemouth and London depending where work takes him. Either with a dreamy look on his face or wired on probably a bit too much caffiene. Goes Banksy hunting or lurks in Camden Town (when it's not on fire). Otherwise making a fool of himself torpedoing through sandbanks bay underwater being dragged by a kite. Occasionally armed with a camera taking photos of anything and everything.

Feel freeeeeee to gaz or message me, I'm a friendly chap I think? I've never bitten anyone who hasn't asked. Oh and don't let me near too much espresso... mmm espresso.

» Public Transport Trauma

Unlucky fella from work...
Back in 2005 one of our guys working in the London office I think had the worst luck.

I'm sorry to post this a bit, I hope some don't see it in bad taste, but it may just make you reflect that your trauma really isn't all that bad..

The guy went for his morning commute in July. Got to the tube station, getting down to the tube and one of the July bombs went off... he gets evacuated.

You think phew, that's a lucky escape isn't it?

Unfortunately not. He then gets on a bus to go to work. Yes, you may be thinking... he got on the bus that exploded in Tavistock Square. Unfortunately he was one of the 52 fatalities of that day.

I remember being at a comedy gig and one of the comedians was taking the piss out of the bombings, then he asked the audience if anyone had any experience of the bombings as he was swearing at the Council for stopping public transport for the day...

I told him that story. The room went kinda quiet. No witty retort from said comedian.

So whenever I have a bad commute with screaming babies, drunk people, snoring people, over-cramped carriages, I just think of the poor bloke from work that died and quite frankly, I've got nothing to be miffed at.

Top Gear
I'm not sure if anyone caught the 'best of' episode of top gear before the new series started?

Well that part of the cool-wall, where Clarkson slaps cars on a guy who's super uncool?

That'll be me...

Oh and the B*stards included it on the 'best of' Top Gear DVD that was free with Top Gear magazine... so immortalised for ever.

And my workmates recored it on Tivo... so there's even copies of it circulating the net via bittorrent.

Bah

» This book changed my life

Let the dice roll
The book that changed my life the most? As well as my aspect on things?

That would be The Dice Man - by Luke Rhinehart (George Cockcroft).

The story is about a psychiatrist who found himself bored and unfulfilled with his life makes the choice of letting dice make all his decisions for him.

Whilst the book is a bit dark at times, covering sex, rape, murder, 'dice parties', the government and cults (well the sex and cults sound interesting), it really did rock my aspect on life, free will and predetermination.

Ask yourself why you make the decisions you make? What happens when you're indecisive? Do you ever have regrets?

Try living for a week where you have two choices for every action you look at, then roll for it... it makes life rather interesting. I ate some very strange breakfasts, went some very strange places, did some very abnormal things, luckily without resulting in arrest.

Oh and I love his psychological research initiative - 'Fuck without Fear for Fun and Profit'
