Are these soft, chewy, American-style cookies? I've never made ones like that, maybe I should give it a go...trouble is, I have very little self-restraint when it comes to cookies.

I'd presume this is because this recipe uses granulated sugar.

I'll try a recipe with soft brown sugar at some point, I figure that should be a chewier cookie.
