# from a northern choice tomorrow...
...i don't have the option of kicking the tories, as there isn't one for miles round sheffield. i do get to piss on the local lib dems though, who have a council seat to defend.

labour have put up a 21 year old student who is clearly looking to build a career in 'big' politics, from outside our local area so it feels like a miserable choice.

the green party candidate, the only other candidate with a hope, is a hippy with long facial hair, a track record of vegan activism and lead singer of a band called something like 'TreeBeard', and the 'socialist and trade union alliance leaflet reads like a mix of citizen smith and school newspaper.

it's all so disappointing, its made me seriously think about standing as an independent looking represent local micro issues.

all told, the most important thing to happen round here tomorrow is my wife and son coming home from hospital! makes the local machinations seem trivial beyond all calculation.

# agreed
Politics in Sheffield are depressing. I was faced with a similar lack of options on my polling card. At the moment it seems to boil down to which one of these fuckwits would you least mind fucking you dry
