Absolutely! Or, it could be your hard-drive becoming impacted...I suggest softening it up with a rare earth magnet, just rub it over the spinny bit for a while. It'll be at super speed in no time

Also a factory wipe - use some acetone to scrub all that crap off of the hdd platters.
