I don't know why
But I'm laughing like an idiot at that. I narrowly avoided a tea-keyboard moment.

the story is
based on a true story.

How does one make
such a cool 3D thing?
(
Hobbes, Tue 17 Feb 2004, 18:47,
archived)
technically i think that would be a 2D thingie...
as it appears to be a rendered 2D plane spinning in 3D space... i could be wrong though
(

It's the 3D spinning part
that i am interested in.
But thank you, where would we be without pedants like you?
(
Hobbes, Tue 17 Feb 2004, 18:51,

i'm not sure
but i am sure there would be people running around shouting such things as "YOUR ALL GAY"
(

you are wrong
as it is a 2D
representation of a 2D object floating in 3D space
(

i think actually,
he reversed the polarity.

don't cross the streams
it would be bad
(

granted.
you never know where theyve been.

Perhaps
he just modified the phase variance.
My word, that was obscure.
(

but it is RENDERED
which is typically what you do to output an image like that, so i suppose we are both correct in that sense.

I used 3dsMAX
and its marvellous feature that allows rendering to a series of Tiff files- each with its own alpha channel allowing for easy background removal.
