Well
selecting the colour of the marble and paintbrushing over the 'guin head layer at 30% opacity turns it into a ghost head - as above.
T'would be mightly useful to have a marble tutorial.

it would be rather hard
since marble is textureless you would just be drawing shadows onto a light block of colour... which requires skill

are well.... feather textured...
Bizzarely, I find marble is darn easy to draw with a pencil for the reasons you have just stated - and texture damn hard.

Once you've done that,
use the Burn tool on the head layer to up the contrast...it'll be less ghosty, at least.
