It should automatically import bookmarks.There should be a folder called 'imported IE favourites' Cookies i know nothing about, and why don't you just type the passwords in, then password manager can remember them.

it ran something called 'import wizard'which tries to get my bookmarks and stuff, then went tits up.

You dont stick toIE. IE sticks to you. Like some sort of body fungus that has been growing beneath your armpit for the last three months and will shortly become sentient.
