OooohI'm a bit of a newby to this, so feel honoured to be asked a techie question - in PSP you can feather a selection. Then just paste over the top.
Sorry - too vague: Get images of glasses, select all. Selection, Modify, feather. Then paste cartoons over original glasses and paste feathered version of glasses over the top again.
