theres a drop down menu that lets you put your post into the compo. will still be on the board but then gets included in the compo thread.

go to edit, then you will see a scroll bar near the bottom of the page. IT says

"This is"
and change it to the compo/challenge

/Edit: Also, try clicking the L sign next to your user name. The FAQ is your friend :D
