Actually,
I wany one as a dedicated work pc, to run photoshop, maya and dreamweaver.
I know I could do all that with a regular PC, but I want diversity in my computers.

and put them in camps and make them work until their processors BURN.

you can skin Linux to look like that in 2 clicks
I can see a lot more people going for Macs now.. the Mac Mini is really cheap, decent-ish spec, and has Apple`s record of reliability
I`m considering it myself purely because Linux takes so long to support hardware, and if you get something a bit niche, forget about it

I would love to switch to linux
and the wonders of open source, but the support out there is almost negligable (unless you pay windows xp prices for it). If OSX or Tiger is released for PC, I would definatly buy it.

I once skinned my Windows XP-SP2 PC to emulate OSX Panther
seem to recall using the rather spiffy Object Dock and Object Desktop thingies:

Here, have a screenshot!
Ptolly's PC skinned as a Mac

Has to be said, it looks pretty, but I would prefer windows was windows
at least things are where you expect them.

I personally
think that it and the Tiger skins look bloody awful, they remind me of my Amiga days. You can alter them to be right handed but they still look dated all the same. The standard XP themes are also a bit naff. I use one called IGlass 3 and it's very pleasing to mine eyes.

I use a mac at work, and works perfectly
and I happent o use it on my laptop, because I don't want to use Windows, and I want a lot of the Linux type tools and power user shit. - to me OSX is just pretty-Unix.
AAAAANNNNND
I never use Safari - normally firefox, but the extensions are borked at work.... and I am at work.

This has been a broadcast on behalf of the pro-choice party.
I'd say I'm sorry but I find mindless OMFGINOTWANTUSEWINDOWSLOLOLOLOL!!!!1111ONE talk for the vast majority of times extremely annoying, sheepish and baseless.

I don't want to use it because I wind it easier to find freeware apps which suit me
and I am familiar to unix. That is why I didn't want a windows pooter. Not because I hate Willy Gates, or want to be bummed by Stephen Jobbies. I genuinely like the OS. I wish it didn't cost so damn much for an average but pretty pooter.
I really don't get how people can get so defensive about windows though. It is the industry standard. It is a bit like being a cornflake fanatic.

What is your problem?
I have a mac, a windows xp machine and a BSD server [Yes! Not linux! I am a heathen!].
I use my BSD box to play with webservers, my Mac laptop for development and everyday use, and my windows XP box for games.
They are each very well suited to their task.
You can easily 'optimise' any OS to work how you want it to.
With XP I install Konfabulator and Cygwin on the command line.
I can not live without widgets and Gnu tools!
