# 50 frames?!
blimey! that must have taken you all night! still, it's very, very good!

hint - you can reduce the filesize by removing some of those 50 frames - you'd be amazed at what the human eye can compensate for - and imageready lets you set lossy percentage - usually up to 20% is fine without much visible loss of quality. then there's reducing from 256 to 128 colours or so.

# ijm getting quick at making animation
But tnx for the tip
didnt realise i could cut some out
it is on 128 colours
(, Sun 8 Dec 2002, 22:59, archived)
# yep
there's a little window called 'optimitize'. you can set lossy percentage (helps a lot in reducing file size). here you can also turn off dithering (which isn't needed; by setting it to 0%), and you can play around with the number of colours and lossiness.
(, Sun 8 Dec 2002, 23:04, archived)
# i wondered what dithering did
i turned it to 0 on one pic and noticed no differace
what is lossiness?
(, Sun 8 Dec 2002, 23:08, archived)
# and i do apologise
my animations are getting very big sorry!
(, Sun 8 Dec 2002, 23:21, archived)
# it's very slightly
on the large side (you should try to aim for as far below 150k as you can), but it's great! lossiness loses some of the picture quality for you. taking it up to around 20 can reduce your file size significantly and the animation will still be recognisable.
(, Sun 8 Dec 2002, 23:28, archived)
# really,
i reckon you could lose a large number of your frames. that would cut down the file size dramatically. i'm off to bed now, but i might see if i can reduce it for you tomorrow.
(, Sun 8 Dec 2002, 23:29, archived)
# tnx
i shall try harder on my next one to reduce the size
and not get too carried away with frames
(, Sun 8 Dec 2002, 23:34, archived)
# it's
a fantastic anim :)
