my good friend from Boston kept me in McDonalds the whole time he was in Beijing. Which I now considder a terrible waste of my time.

It's very true
I went InterRailing around Europe in 1993 and overheard two Yanks meeting at Vienna train station. They were comparing the MacDonalds restaurants around Europe and obviously hadn't eaten anywhere else. Their reasoning for that was that they trusted MacDonalds, compared to European restaurants!!!!!
