I think it`s called 'chromakeying' (can`t be arsed to google)- they filter out the screen`s colour (I don`t know why it went from blue to green) on the computer and add in all the background stuffs - same way they do the weather (and you used to see a huge blurry movement around Michael Fish`s crazy jackets)
